Burns Night

January 25th marks the annual celebration of Scotland’s National Poet, Robert Burns. If you would like to celebrate this is in London, viist The Burns Club in London. It commemorates the life of the bard (poet) Robert Burns, who was born on January 25, 1759. The day also celebrates Burns' contribution to Scottish culture. Burns' best known work is "Auld Lang Syne".

The Queen’s Gallery
This is the new exhibition currently on show: The Heart of the Great Alone: Scott, Shackleton & Antarctic Photography. This exhibition of remarkable Antarctic photography by George Herbert Ponting and Frank Hurley marks the 100th anniversary of Captain Scott’s ill-fated journey to the South Pole. Both collections of photographs were presented to King George V and are today part of the Royal Photograph Collection. This exhibition will run until 15th April 2012.
