GREATER LONDON TRAINING AWARD

This award recognises outstanding achievements in workplace training and personal development.

The National Training Awards, are run by UK Skills on behalf of the Department for Education and Skills. Now in their 20th year, the National Training Awards are often viewed as a barometer of the UK’s changing attitudes to training.

Over 220 finalists from 25 industry sectors, chosen from Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and nine regions across the UK, took part in the final stages of the 2005 awards.

Dr Graeme Hall, Chief Executive of UK Skills, commented:

“Tonight’s ceremony is all about celebrating remarkably talented organisations and individuals who have achieved the highest standards. Acknowledging and highlighting good practice is incredibly important if we want to continue to compete in a global market. In order to do so, we need to focus on achieving high quality skills and standards and these organisations and individuals are great examples of this in practice.

The high number of winners from London demonstrates that an increasing number of employers in the region are taking skills seriously and realising that investment in training is crucial to future business success. I warmly congratulate all winners on their achievement.”
