Visitors can see various items that have never been seen by the public before, including jewellery, textiles and sculptures, while gaining an overview of the V&A's changing attitudes to African culture since the 1800s.

The show is free for all to attend and has been organised with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

People staying at The Egerton House Hotel can delve further into the museum's various collections by booking an Art and Culture at the V&A package.

It includes two tickets to a feature exhibition of choice, as well as a catalogue that details everything currently on show.
