Category: Art & Culture Date: Saturday, 21 September 2013 Those staying at luxury hotels in London this September should pack their dancing shoes as the National Army Museum is hosting its annual 1940s-themed jive event on the night of the 21st. Professional dance instructors from the London Swing Dance Society will be on hand to help participants find their feet between 7.30pm and midnight at the Chelsea venue. Ladies are invited to get into the wartime spirit with a 1940s makeover and everyone who attends will be given a souvenir photo for posterity. The event costs £15.00 for adults, £12.50 for concessions and £7.50 for under 15s, and can be booked online, by phone or in person at the museum shop. Even if you're not in London that weekend, the museum is well worth a visit at any time of year, with its permanent galleries, special displays and events providing a fascinating insight into the history of the British Army. For convenient access to the museum, book yourself in for the whole weekend at The Egerton, which offers three nights for the price of two.
