Making It Up: Photographic Fictions at the V&A

  • Category: Art & Culture
  • Dates: Tuesday, 24 September 2013 to Tuesday, 14 January 2014

The Victoria and Albert Museum will be introducing a new display called Making It Up: Photographic Fictions on May 3rd 2013.

Its purpose will be to subvert the traditional perception of photography being associated with truthfulness, featuring various works that showcase the medium's potential for telling stories and evoking imaginary concepts.

Pieces from contemporary artists such as Gregory Crewdson, Duane Michals and Cindy Sherman will be presented alongside 19th-century works from the likes of Julia Margaret Cameron, Clementina Lady Hawarden and Oscar Gustav Rejlander.

The exhibition is free to attend and runs until January 12th 2014, giving luxury London hotel guests plenty of time to stop by.

Visitors who book an Art and Culture at the V&A package at The Egerton House Hotel will receive two tickets to see any feature exhibition at the museum, as well as a catalogue detailing everything on show.

The package also includes daily English breakfasts and an afternoon tea for two on one day.
