"Amazing rare things" at the Queen's Gallery

Event: 2008 displays at The Queen's Gallery and The Drawings Gallery

The 2008 exhibitions and displays for The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace and The Drawings Gallery, Windsor Castle, have been announced by the Royal Collection.

Guests staying at luxury London hotel the Milestone can look forward to seeing such displays as Treasures from the Royal Collection, Bruegel to Rubens: Masters of Flemish Painting, Treasures from the Royal Collection, The Art of Italy in the Royal Collection: The Renaissance, The Art of Italy in the Royal Collection: The Baroque, Royal Weddings 1840 – 1947: From Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Prince of Wales: An Exhibition to celebrate his 60th Birthday.

Treasures from the Royal Collection will include works from Rembrandt, Canaletto and Winterhalter as well as Faberge. Thomas Gainsborough's Diana and Actaeon is sure to be a highlight of this exhibit.

Bruegel to Rubens: Masters of Flemish Painting will see the display of 50 Flemish paintings from the 15th and 17th centuries by artists including by Hans Memling, Van Dyck and Teniers.

Visitors from nearby luxury London hotel the Milestone should make a point of seeing Royal Weddings 1840 – 1947: From Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth II which will include "rare" memorabilia as well as "charming personal gifts" given by members of the Royal Family.

Another highlight of the exhibition season is likely to be HRH The Prince of Wales: An Exhibition to celebrate his 60th Birthday, showing at The Drawings Gallery in Windsor Castle between May 16th 2008 and February 22nd 2009, which will reflect the Prince's interests as well as illustrate "key" moments from his life.
