Cheese lovers will be spoilt for choice, it has been suggested, at the South Africa Cheese Festival, which takes place in April this year.
From April 25th - 28th 2008, guests of luxury Cape Town hotel the Twelve Apostles with a fondness for fromage can visit nearby Bien Donne farm in the Paarl countryside.
The country's foremost cheese event is said to appeal to young and old, who are "sure to enjoy this farm-to-table cheese experience".
Features of the Cheese Festival include Checkers Cheese Emporium, Absa Cheese & Wine Route, Cheese Market and Fair Cape Market Square, Gourmet Lane and Ladismith Cheese Music Gazebo, Milk Factory, Wilde Fruit Juices Kiddies Corner and Snack Food Lane Nampak Exhibitor's braai and Surepure Cooking Pot.
Braai is an Afrikaans term for a barbeque - a social tradition in Cape Town and elsewhere in South Africa.
Residents of luxury hotel the Twelve Apostles can enjoy a wide selection of "champion cheeses" and combined with wine, olives and freshly baked bread, the festival promises to be a hit among epicureans
Cheese available for consumption will be not only of the local varieties but from France, Holland and Switzerland too.
