Play readings by the Geneva English Drama Society

Event: Play readings by the Geneva English Drama Society
Dates: Various in 2008

Literary types staying at luxury Geneva hotel Hotel d'Anglettere this year will have numerous opportunities to enjoy a play reading by the Geneva English Drama Society.

The Geneva English Drama Society was established in 1933 and performs English language theatre for residents and visitors to Geneva.

According to the society, play readings are a "great way" to experience a variety of different plays which are not always on offer as full stage productions.

Held in the downstairs hall of the English Church of the Holy Trinity, the play readings usually attract between 50 and 100 visitors.

Those attending from nearby luxury Geneva hotel Hotel d'Anglettere will no doubt find the atmosphere both informal and sociable.

Meanwhile, those residents of the luxury Geneva hotel intending to be in town for a while could even participate onstage, as opportunities are available for "experienced" as well as "aspiring" actors.

This winter, play readings include The Voysey Inheritance by H Granville-Barker, adapted by David Mamet, on February 5th, The Deep Blue Sea by Terence Rattigan on February 19th and The Grass is Greener by H & M Williams on March 4th 2008.
