Taking place on the weekend of June 6th and 7th 2008, the Derby Festival weekend features both Ladies Day and Derby Day itself.

Guests of luxury London hotel the Milestone should don their most extravagant hats for Ladies Day on June 6th, when women will be resplendent in the most supreme couture "to see the finest fillies competing in the feature race - the Oaks".

While visitors attending from the nearby luxury London hotel have a flutter on the horses, the most stylishly dressed guests will be in with a chance of winning the Style on the Downs competition.

Derby Day itself takes place on Saturday June 7th and is described by organisers as "the greatest flat race in the world" in which horses and riders are pushed to the limits of their abilities.

Dating back to 1780, Derby Day is described as a "great" day out with a special atmosphere.
