This summer, guests staying at luxury hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair will be able to view a range of contemporary art produced by established and unknown artists at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

"The Summer Exhibition is a lot of fun. Anybody can submit work to the selection panel which gives the exhibition a glorious element of surprise," London Town enthused in regards to the event.

Taking place at the Royal Academy of Arts, not far from luxury hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair, the Summer Exhibition has been held annually since 1768 and should appeal to a range of art lovers as it does not focus on one particular medium.

Visitors staying at luxury hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair may be interested to know that the hotel is offering a special Art Lovers package until December 31st 2008 which includes Classic Room accommodation, full English breakfast, traditional afternoon tea for two on one day as well as two tickets to the Royal Academy of Arts.

Guests attending the Summer Exhibition from nearby luxury hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair will be able to view paintings, prints, architectural models and even sculptures and if they take a particular fancy to a piece there is also the option to make a purchase.

Last year, the event drew 150,000 visitors, which the organisers feel makes it an integral part of London's art calendar.

Of the estimated 11,000 submissions to the exhibition, the works will be reduced down to a final 1,200 for the ultimate judging.
