Music fans staying at luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace this February can join in celebrations for the "rock 'n' roll party of the year" at the Brixton Carling Academy.

The Shockwaves NME Awards Tour 2008 will arrive in London on February 28th 2008 and a multitude of up and coming bands tipped for greatness in 2008 will be performing.

Headlining the show will be The Cribs who have recently toured with Franz Ferdinand and the Sex Pistols at their Brixton reunion gigs.

The Cribs will be performing along with other new acts such as "art-rockers" Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, Babyshambles, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Blood Red Shoes and dance outfit Does it Offend You, Yeah?.

Guests of nearby luxury London hotel the Rubens looking to see the opening event will also be able to catch The Ting Tings, visit London reports.

Meanwhile, those staying at luxury London hotel the Rubens in February with families may wish to visit the Brixton Carling Academy on February 26th and 28th to see Brit award nominated singer Mika.

Those attending the Mika show should be aware that "fantastical fancy dress" is "encouraged if not expected".
