Marguerite at Haymarket Theatre

Event: Marguerite
Date: May 6th - November 1st 2008

From May 6th 2008, guests staying at luxury London hotel 41 who are staunch fans of musical production Les Miserables may enjoy a new musical from the talent who created the groundbreaking production.

Marguerite, the brainchild of Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schonberg and Herbert Kretzmer, is a love story set in Paris during the second world war.

With more than one obvious connection to the award-winning musical Les Miserables, the title role of Marguerite will be played by Ruthie Henshall, who performed the role of Fantine in the famous French show.

Well-known songs from Les Miserables that guests of luxury London hotel 41 may be familiar with include Fantine's solo I Dreamed a Dream, the comic duet Master of the House, the rousing Do You Hear the People Sing?, Eponine's heartbreaking On My Own and the impressive group number One Day More.

In Marguerite - which is inspired by the Alexandre Dumas novel La Dame Aux Camelias - the eponymous heroine is the mistress of a high-ranking German officer who falls in love with a young musician.

The musical tells the story of their dangerous affair in Occupied Paris.
