Shakespeare's Globe Season - Totus Mundi

Event: Shakespeare's Globe Season - Totus Mundi
Date: April 23rd until October 5th 2008

Fans of the bard will be looking forward to the upcoming Totus Mundi, also known as annual Shakespeare theatre season at Shakespeare's Globe in London.

And those staying at nearby luxury London hotel the Egerton can attend opening shows from April 23rd 2008 with the entire season running through until October 5th 2008.

Named after the rumoured motto of the first Globe theatre, "totus mundus agit histrionem" or "the whole world is a playhouse", the season celebrates the "glorious unruly diversity" of Shakespeare's work.

In 2008, the London theatre is looking to perform a selection of plays which reflect the bard's diversity, including the tragic King Lear, his celebrated comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream, "thrilling and savage satire" Timon of Athens and sit-com The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Meanwhile, it is not only guests of luxury London hotel the Egerton that can enjoy Shakespeare's prose this year, as following the theatre's first open-air performance last year of Romeo and Juliet, in 2008 The Winter's Tale and Romeo and Juliet will also take to the road in the UK.
