That Face

Event: That Face at the Duke of York's Theatre
Date: May 1st 2008 until July 5th 2008

That Face brings to mind Philip Larkin's famous poem This Be The Verse, as it details the effect a dysfunctional mother has on her two children.

Guests of luxury hotel the Montague on the Gardens attending the play can judge the connection for themselves between May 1st and July 5th 2008 as That Face is performed at London's the Duke of York's Theatre.

Polly Stenham's award-winning play That Face tells the story of Martha, a rich woman with two children and an addiction to substance abuse.

Those attending from luxury hotel the Montague can see Lindsay Duncan reprise her role as the dysfunctional Martha for the limited ten-week season as she provides daughter Mia with drugs and son Henry, played by Matt Smith, with alcohol.

The play is described as a darkly comic exploration of the phenomenon of children who play parents to their mothers and fathers.

Her first ever play, That Face was written by Stenham when she was 19 years old and as such offers "adolescent dramas with an insider's eye for detail", LondonTown notes.
