Royalists and those who have a taste for impressive interior design can admire the inside of Buckingham Palace this summer.
Between July 31st and September 29th 2008, visitors and guests staying at neighbouring luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace will have the chance to look around the royal residence.
Since 1837, Buckingham Palace has served as the British monarchy's official London residence and its evolution from eighteenth century town house to the official home of Queen Elizabeth II is a remarkable sight to witness.
Buckingham Palace boasts a total of 775 rooms, many of which are regularly opened to visitors, some who travel from nearby luxury London hotel the Rubens.
The state rooms which are to open to visitors during the Annual Summer Opening in August and September are furnished with magnificent Royal Collection items such as paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Vermeer, Poussin, Canaletto and Claude.
Visitors will also be able to glimpse sculptures by Canova and Chantrey in addition to fine English and French furniture.
