Event: Cider with Rosie
Date: May 22nd and June 25th 2008
For a traditional theatre break this spring, guests staying in suites at luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge may wish to take a trip to see a production of Cider with Rosie.
To be performed as part of a West Country tour at Frampton Village Hall on May 22nd and at the Exchange in Sturminster Newton on June 25th 2008, Cider with Rosie is set in the summer of 1918.
At the end of the war First World War, Laurie Lee moves to a new home in the Cotswolds for a peaceful life - until he meets Cabbage Stump Charlie, Jones' Goat and Rosie Burdock.
Adapted for the stage by Nick Darke from Laurie Lee's 1959 book book of childhood memoirs - the first of a trilogy, this is a must see production.
The production demonstrates emerging talent from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, which has produced well-known actors including Jeremy Irons, Daniel Day-Lewis and Miranda Richardson.
