Golda's Balcony

Event: Golda's Balcony
Date: June 7th until June 28th 2008

Theatre fans staying at luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace this June may wish to visit the Shaw Theatre to watch what has been described as "the longest-running one woman in show in the history of Broadway".

The play tells the story of Golda Meir, a Russian immigrant who became the fourth Prime Minister of Israel.

The one-woman show focuses on the period of time around the 1973 Yom Kippur War which saw conflict between Egypt and Syria and Israel and Golda's struggle to find an ally with the US.

Playing at the Shaw Theatre in London from June 7th until June 28th 2008, Tovah Feldshuh will play the role of Golda in William Gibson's Tony Award-winning one-woman show.

Following its premier at the Manhattan Ensemble Theatre in New York, Golda's Balcony transferred to Broadway for a record 17-month run where it won the Drama Desk Award for best Solo Performance by Feldshuh.

After watching this mesmerising performance, head back to luxury London hotel the Rubens for a spot of fine dining before retiring to bed in one of the hotel's beautifully decorated suites.
