Mitra Tabrizian: This is that Place

Event: Mitra Tabrizian exhibition at Tate Britain
Date: June 4th 2008 to August 10th 2008

Tate Britain is set to launch an exciting new exhibition which may prove the perfect accompaniment to a stay in luxury London hotel the Rubens.

The internationally-renowned gallery will play host to the first ever UK exhibition of the work of Iranian-British artist Mitra Tabrizian, who combines the twin arts of cinematography and photography.

Central to the display - which brings together work by the artist over the last eight years - is a photograph entitled Tehran 2006, which features a reconstruction of a panoramic scene in which all the models pose as themselves.

Ms Tabrizan uses techniques commonly used by documentary filmmakers to produce ambitious and thought-provoking photographic works, which examine themes such as capitalist culture, migration theory and national identity.

Tate Britain houses the work of artists from 1500 to the present day and is open daily from 10:00 to 17:50 local time, offering an intriguing day trip prospect for anyone staying at a href="http://www.rubenshotel.com/">luxury London hotel the Rubens.
