Anyone staying at luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair in late August had better be prepared to party as the capital's most famous carnival comes to town.
The 2008 Notting Hill Carnival will be dancing up Portabello Road in a dazzling array of floats, bright lights, music and dancing on August 24th and 25th.
Chairman of last year's London Notting Hill Carnival Professor Chris Mullard said: "Many events form the carnival season, from the crowning of the Calypso Monarch at the London Calypso tent, to the Nursery Carnival event.
"The carnival has long been an expression of identity but also of belonging, culturally enriching to the rest of British society."
Over 1.5 million people attended last year's event and around two million are expected to fill the streets for this year's carnival, partying to an electrifying mix of house music, reggae, salsa and funk.
