Event: Love at the National Gallery

Those seeking a touch of romance to complement their stay at luxury London hotel the Montague may want to try looking for love at the National Gallery this summer.

From July 24th to October 5th 2008, the National Gallery will be hosting a special exhibition named after and celebrating one of the greatest artistic influences - Love.

Featuring works from the 15th century, right through to contemporary takes on this most complex and innate of emotions, the display affords visitors the chance to examine varying depictions of love throughout the ages.

A wide variety of relationships will be considered, from the spiritual and divine to chaste and unchaste to family and charity, with works by some of history's most renowned artist on show, including Vermeer, Raphael and Cranach.

London's National Gallery also features an exquisite and world-renowned permanent collection, which includes Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers and Botticelli's Venus and Mars.
