Guests staying at luxury Cape Town hotel the Twelve Apostles may wish to leave their hat on for the Creativeentertainment performance of The Full Monty at the Artscape Opera House this summer.

The South African premiere of the comedy musical - which has enjoyed a long and successful run on Broadway - will now run in Cape Town as The Full Monty - The Broadway Musical from July 26th 2008 until August 17th 2008.

The Full Monty, boasting the strap line of "night out for the ladies became a way out for the guys", this could be a show that appeals in particular to female travellers staying at luxury Cape Town hotel the Twelve Apostles.

Originally gaining fame as a UK film starring Robert Carlisle and based in Sheffield, the story was adapted for the Broadway audiences to focus on a group of unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, New York.

Following their wives evening out to watch male strippers the men choose to overcome their fears and self-consciousness to bare all in a bid to earn some money and overcome their problems.

The performance also tells an important tale about friendship, anxiety, weight issues, child custody, bigotry and homosexuality.

And for curious theatre-goers, Artscape Opera House notes that there is a reason why the show is "not called the The Half Monty".
