Guests staying at luxury London hotel the Milestone will not want to miss the Windsor Festival when it takes place this autumn.

Located a mere 15 minutes away from Paddington station, where guests can hop onboard a train to Windsor, luxury London hotel the Milestone is a great base for those wishing to attend the festival between September 14th and 28th 2008.

The 2008 Windsor Festival is this year introducing an International String Competition to its programme which will also include a series of concerts, literary talks and walks and tours.

"We have selected eight brilliant young individuals from across the globe to perform at Windsor Festival. We would now like to encourage the audience to be part of the competition," Martin Denny, festival director commented.

He added that he had been "delighted" by the high calibre of applicants for the string competition.

Family events and exhibitions also take up a major part of this end of summer festival.

Festival events are staged both within and around Windsor Castle including the Royal Chapel in Windsor Great Park, Eton College and Windsor Parish Church.

Highlights of the festival include an evening of classical masterpieces from, Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven by the English Chamber Orchestra in Windsor Castle on September 24th.
