Event: Regent Street Festival
Date: September 7th 2008
The Regent Street Festival 2008 is taking place this September and may be of interest to visitors staying at luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair.
Described as a "great British experience" and one of London's most anticipated free annual events, the festival takes place on Regent Street on Sunday September 7th.
Regent Street will be closed to traffic from 12:00pm until 8:00pm during which time it is anticipated that 600,000 revellers from around the world will come to see examples of great British showmanship.
Ideal for those on family breaks at luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair, children can enjoy traditional funfair rides as well as live music, marching bands and dance performances.
Other quintessentially British performances will include polo demonstrations and the more eccentric tea dances.
Of course no self respecting festival would be complete without a generous offering of gourmet food, and Regent Street Festival does not disappoint.
More than 30 flagship stores will be taking part in the festival including Godiva, which will be selling British blackberries and other fruits covered in Belgian chocolate and Heddon Street and Swallow Street which will be offering a selection of traditional British dishes such as fish and chips from Fishworks and sausages and mash from The Living Room W1.
Guests staying at luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair who want to make the most of their time in London can start off the festival weekend with a bang by taking advantage of the Chesterfield Mayfair's Summer Breeze offer which includes a bottle of house Champagne in your room on arrival, fresh strawberries and cream and a full English breakfast.
