Event: Boris Godunov at the Coliseum
Date: November 10th until December 1st
People keen to be transported from 21st century London to 16th century Russia can have their dream turned into reality as a major new production of Musorgsky's of Boris Godunov directed by Tim Albery comes to the capital this November.
The official website says a tale of murder, betrayal and skulduggery among the country's ruling elite will be played out over seven scenes conducted by Edward Gardner.
According to Whatsonwhen, the tale centres around Boris, who was named the Tsar of Russia in 1598, but who attained the position through his sister's marriage to the previous Tsar, Fyodor.
However, Boris guards a dark secret in that he had the other claimant to the throne murdered seven years earlier.
The story sees the protagonist descend into madness and finally succumb to death but not before viewers are given a ride through the turbulent world that the Russian elite inhabited all those years ago.
After being transported to Russia theatre-goers can return to the warm sanctuary of 21st century England and enjoy a suite at the luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens.
By opting for the Get More From Your Stay package guests can look forward to a bottle of chilled champagne, a two-course pre-theatre dinner for two on one evening or tickets to the London Eye.
