The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House

Event: The Nutcracker
Date: December 15th until January 10th

There will be something for everyone to enjoy in London this December when the Nutcracker comes to the capital.

Set on Christmas Eve, the show opens with a Christmas party featuring lavish decorations and spectacular arrays of colour around a magnificent tree.

As guests begin to arrive, the mysterious toymaker Drosselmeyer enters and presents the two children, Clara and Fritz with gifts.

Clara receives a nutcracker which makes her brother jealous and he steals it from her to throw to other boys.

It eventually breaks along with Clara's heart, however the toymaker fixes the present and she falls asleep with her new toy.

What follows is a trip to outer realms of fantasy as the Mouse King invades the house with his soldiers and she and the nutcracker battle the soldiers.

A magical journey through snow forests, the Land of Sweets and encounters with the Sugar Plum Fairy all await the brave pair in a show which will captivate audiences.

Tchaikovsky's glorious score adds to the sense of drama, love and heroism this play is rich in.

Visitors can continue the fantasy theme after the show by booking a suite at the luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair.

Those travelling with children can enjoy Christmas cake, a full English breakfast daily and a taxi to Oxford Street to see the light by choosing the Magical London package.

It is not just adults who will have all the fun as there will be a Christmas gift and a Santa Claus hat for the youngsters.
