Event: Birds Eye View Film Festival
Date: March 5th until 13th
In 2005, the Birds Eye View charity launched the UK's first major film festival to celebrate the contribution women have made to the world of cinema and how female industry figures have a significant influence on the medium.
The Birds Eye View Film Festival is back, promising to be bigger and better than ever.
Each year, the event coincides with International Women's Week and showcases the best features, documentaries and short films made by women from across the globe.
One of the highlights of the exhibition is the Retrospective section, which this year is dubbed Screen Seductresses - Vamps, Vixens and Femmes Fatales, and will focus on five classic silent movies, including Pandora's Box, The Temptress and Alraune.
These classics will be accompanied by a soundtrack from cutting-edge female artists such as Bishi, Broken Hearts DJs and Alison Blunt.
For film fans, this week-long celebration of the impact women have had on the world of cinema and how they are shaping its future is a must.
Couples planning on attending can add a touch of romance to their short break by booking a suite at the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace and choosing the Suite Dreams package.
Guests can enjoy chocolate-dipped strawberries, a bottle of champagne waiting in their room and a three-course table d'hote dinner for two.
