Calendar Girls at the Noel Coward Theatre

Visitors to the capital from abroad can experience the best of British in two different ways.
First of all, London is famous for its vast and varied range of plays and performances and those who want to see a true British treat will not want to miss Calendar Girls, which is on at the Noel Coward Theatre from early April.
Set in Yorkshire, the story follows the members of an ordinary Women's Institute who amaze and appal in equal measure with a calendar with a difference.
The girls persuade one another to lose their inhibitions and drop their dressing gowns to pose for the calendar in the nude, with only strategically-placed cakes, tarts and flowers stopping people seeing all.
Word soon spreads and they become mini-celebrities, puzzling their husbands, embarrassing their children and incurring the wrath of do-gooders who believe there is no place in society for this sort of thing.
The second taste of Britain visitors will love is to be found at the luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens.
Guests will be bowled over by the hotel's It's Showtime package, which includes a full-English breakfast, a pre-theatre dinner with coffee and dessert and two tickets to a theatre of choice, subject to availability.
