Royal Ascot is a race which is steeped in tradition, pageantry and heritage dating back more than 300 years.
Held at the Berkshire course since 1711, the event is the biggest flat racing meeting anywhere in the UK and a celebration of everything that is uniquely British.
Some of the biggest names in the world of horse racing come to the race each year, as do upwards of 300,000 visitors who attend dressed in their best bib and tucker.
In fact, for many women present, the event is about having a bigger, bolder and brighter hat than the next person, with Ladies Day as much of competition as the sporting fixture itself.
