The Deutsche Borse Photography Prize is one of the most significant events in the photography calendar.
Founded in 1996, the award has helped establish the careers of many of the world's great photographers, with Richard Billingham among those owing a lot of their success to the exposure they gained from winning it.
Next year's prize will be contested by four of the finest snappers working today.
UK photographer Anna Fox is nominated for her Cockroach Diary and Other Stories exhibition, with fellow Brit Donovan Wylie in the running for his MAZE 2007-08 showcase.
French snapper Sophie Ristelhueber also wowed the judges with her self-titled exhibition at the Jaume de Paris, as did Zoe Leonard, who completes the shortlist.
For photography lovers, it is a chance to see the work of the most visionary individuals in the business, with striking and thought-provoking images to admire.
