What's hot in London this weekend?

A weekend in London is a chance to try out new things, so why not enjoy a mix of classical music and stunning laser shows?

Mixing the works of Mozart with a display of lights, lasers and special effects is something which most people have probably never experienced.

Yet this weekend they have the chance to do just that by heading to the Royal Albert Hall for the wonderful Classical Spectacular.

A cast of over 200 musicians will play some of the most famous pieces of classical music ever written and they will be supported by a state-of-the-art lighting rig which will provide a backdrop of dramatic colours and special effects.

It gives classical music a whole new meaning and is a must-see for those who enjoy things that are a little bit different.

Visitors to the capital may want to save the Classical Spectacular for the Sunday evening, as something very special will be happening on Friday and Saturday.

The Danza Contemporanea de Cuba is a company of dancers which is famous the world over.

Unfortunately, they rarely perform outside of their homeland.

However, this weekend they will be taking to the stage at Sadler's Wells, bringing the heat and passion of Cuba to east London with a mix of Afro-Caribbean and Spanish styles.

This is the first time the troupe will perform in the UK, making it a very special and important event.

After enjoying Cuban rhythms visitors can take in performances from the cream of the UK's up-and-coming acting talent.

Each year, Shakespeare's Globe holds the Sam Wannamaker Festival in honour of the man who started the project to rebuild the theatre.

It brings promising classical actors from drama schools across the country to the capital where they will present comical, historical and pastoral scenes from some of Shakespeare's greatest plays to an audience of more than 1,600 people.

London is home to one of the world's richest media industries and to celebrate this fact, the mayor Boris Johnson has organised London Film Day, which will highlight the capital's role in the world of moviemaking.

The main event will be the screening of Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang starring Emma Thompson as a magical nanny who uses her special powers to bring five young whippersnappers into line.

A trip to the capital is not complete without paying a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum.

This weekend the museum is holding its Quilts 1700-2010 exhibition, which takes the homemade craftwork and turns it into art work.

Some of the museum's most detailed and valuable patchwork pieces can be seen and the display will delve into the history of the craft with some stunning examples.

Another place where visitors will find quilts is at the luxury London hotel the Milestone, except here, guests are allowed to touch them and enjoy their softness.

One of the finest luxury boutique hotels in London, the Milestone is the perfect place to rest after enjoying the capital's many cultural delights.

Those who book the Get More From Your Stay package can look forward to a choice from a chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot, a romantic turndown, a £50 shopping voucher to spend at Harrods, a three-course table d'hote dinner for two and a flight on the London Eye.
