London once again offers up a varied range of activities for those planning a stay in the capital over the weekend, with football back on the agenda as the start of the new season approaches fast.
Arsenal FC will be hosting the Emirates Cup at its stadium in north London, giving fans of the beautiful game the chance to see AC Milan, Celtic, Lyon and the Gunners themselves in action as they continue their pre-season preparations.
Matches will take place on both Saturday July 31st and Sunday August 1st and those who choose to purchase tickets will be able to enjoy two clashes back-to-back on each day, making the event excellent value-for-money.
However, those who would prefer to enjoy other aspects of the city will still be spoilt for choice, as an eclectic mix of events is set to take place over the three days.
Leicester Square will be the venue for the Barclays Live Dance Competition on July 31st, where competitors have the chance to test their dancing skills and stand a chance of winning a £1,000 prize if they can impress a panel of judges that includes champion ballroom dancer Brendan Cole.
But those who prefer to watch performances rather than taking part in them may be better off heading to Wembley Arena, which will be hosting the legendary Cirque du Soleil.
The world-renowned group will be performing Saltimbanco, which sees breathtaking acrobatics take place within a set designed to recreate a bustling metropolis in a show that is billed by the dance company as "an allegorical and acrobatic journey into the heart of the city".
Alternatively, why make a trip to the Royal Albert Hall, one of the venues for the ongoing BBC Proms season, which this weekend will be hosting three concerts.
Prom 18 - on July 30th - features the Australian Youth Orchestra performing works by Brett Dean, Mahler and Shostakovich, while Prom 19 a day later celebrates the 80th birthday of Broadway innovator Stephen Sondheim.
Finally, Prom 20 on August 1st sees organist Wayne Marshall put his take on pieces by Wagner.
Guests staying a luxury London hotel 41 will be well-placed to enjoy everything the capital has to offer over the weekend and those who book the Get More From Your Stay package will also be able to benefit from some complimentary luxuries.
A full English breakfast is included every morning and those staying will also be able to choose from a bottle of Laurent Perrier to enjoy on arrival, a Champagne afternoon tea for two on one day, a romantic turndown on one evening or a three-course meal for two at the nearby Library restaurant.
