Event: Rosemary Butcher's Festival of Miniatures at the Lilian Baylis Studio
Date: September 23rd to October 3rd
Celebrated British choreographer Rosemary Butcher will be putting her latest work on show in London late in September at the Festival of Miniatures.
Taking place at the Lilian Baylis Studio a short distance from luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens, the event will feature four new pieces, including two by Butcher herself.
She has worked alongside filmmaker Daria Martin and architects Matthew Butcher and Melissa Appleton in order to create Lapped Translated Lines, which involves amplifying the internal senses of performer Elena Giannotti.
And Butcher has also joined forces with visual artist Pablo Bronstein to create Destructive Navigations, a pre-show performance that will take place before Lapped Translated Lines.
Dead Reckoning from Philipp Gehmacher and Vladimir Miller is also on the bill, which, according to dance house Sadler's Wells, "offers a panoramic view on events as it reconfigures the space inside four intersecting screens using projected film", providing spectators with a "fascinating" insight into the fragmentation of sight.
And Dialogue with Lucinda will also be shown as part of the event, which has been produced by Nicole Beutler, drawing on influences from two works by Lucinda Childs.
Guests who book the Get More From Your Stay package at the Montague on the Gardens will be able to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea for two on one day of their stay before heading to the studio, or alternatively opt for a bottle of chilled Champagne to enjoy on arrival.
