Event: The Wimborne Food Festival at various locations
Date: October 23rd and 24th
Those planning an autumn trip to Dorset will be able to sample some local culinary delights at an upcoming event.
The 2010 Wimborne Food Festival will take place on October 23rd and 24th, with independent food and drink producers descending on the market town to show off their latest wares.
Among the attractions on offer at the free event is a chef's showcase, where aspiring cooks can pick up some hints and tips, along with a country craft demonstration area and numerous tasting sessions.
Guests staying at luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge who travel to the town can learn how to make classic Indian dishes such as samosas and onion bhajis, sample locally-made scones and cream and watch demonstrations of how real ales are made, as well as drink free tasters.
Street entertainment will also be taking place over the course of the two days, while more active types can take part in the Vegetable Olympics and compete in events such as an onion and spoon race, pass the cabbage and pumpkin slalom dribbling to raise money for charity.
Guests at the Summer Lodge who book the Get More From Your Stay package will be able to start each day with a full English breakfast and also choose one complimentary gift, with the options including a bottle of complimentary Champagne to drink on arrival, afternoon tea or a light lunch for two on one day or a romantic turndown every evening.
