Within walking distance of Summer Lodge is The Acorn Inn, this lovely stone-built 16th Century restaurant and inn played the role of The Sow & Acorn in Hardy’s Tess of the d’Urbevilles. Without neglecting its original function as a traditional village pub, The Acorn has been transformed into a highly successful gastro-pub with a loyal clientele.
