Beatrice Tollman

President & Founder


Widely acclaimed for her momentous contribution to the hospitality industry, Beatrice Tollman’s numerous accolades include the European Hospitality Awards Hotelier of the Year, a Catey Lifetime Achievement Award and The Leading Hotels of the World’s Leading Legend award. Bea was also inducted into the British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame in 2019. 

She is passionately involved in every aspect of the business, from listening and personally responding to guest feedback, to overseeing every aspect of design and working with her team of chefs on every menu, showcasing her signature dishes in each hotel. 

Always putting her teams at the forefront of everything she does, Bea Tollman motivates her staff to deliver the very best service, resulting in guests coming back time and time again. She works tirelessly to make all of her staff members feel valued and cared for, with an award-winning training programme, an Annual Staff Appreciation Party (the Oscars of Red Carnation) and personally selected holiday gifts.

Director


As a Director for Red Carnation, Vicki is focused on Sales, Marketing, PR and operations, and is following in her mother's footsteps with her passion for the hotel business, their guests and their wonderful teams.

Born in Johannesburg, Vicki moved to London in the late-1970s, where she attended Francis Holland Girls School. She finished school in the USA and then completed her studies in International Finance and Marketing at the American University in Washington DC. Vicki has three daughters and has lived in various countries, from Morocco to France and Switzerland, and is now based in London.

Vicki also manages the family’s award-winning boutique winery in Hermanus, Cape Town, and is a Director for The Travel Corporation. Bouchard Finlayson is recognised as one of South Africa’s finest vineyards, especially famous for its Pinot Noir, as well as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. 

The Travel Corporation (TTC) is a multi-award-winning portfolio of exceptional travel and hospitality brands, all dedicated to making travel matter. 

Jonathan Raggett

Managing Director


Jonathan Raggett has worked in hotels since leaving Westminster College with a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management. Jonathan joined The Red Carnation Hotel Collection in 1998 as General Manager of The Rubens at the Palace. In 2000 he was promoted to Managing Director, overseeing the rapid expansion of Red Carnation's collection of award-winning luxury boutique hotels. 

An inspirational leader, Jonathan Raggett was delighted to be named Hotelier of the Year in November 2009 at the world-renowned Hotel Catey Annual Industry Awards, organised by the Caterer & Hotelkeeper.

"We are a family run small collection of five- and four-star hotels who fight the big chains for business. We will never have the same Sales and Marketing spend as these players, so it is my belief that we need to make an even better job of taking care of our guests."

Jonathan is also Chairman of Red Carnation’s Sustainability committee, which is dedicated to developing and maintaining sustainable initiatives across the Collection. 

Terry Holmes

Executive Director


Internationally acclaimed hotelier Terry Holmes, winner of the 2006 Caterer Tourism Award, joined Red Carnation Hotels in February 2006, bringing with him his incredible passion for the hospitality industry. 

A much loved character at each of the hotels in The Red Carnation Collection, his presence together with his expertise further strengthens our guests' experience.

Terry began his career in the kitchen of The Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane and eventually became the youngest ever Managing Director of a West End hotel – The Stafford, as well as the Managing Director of Cunard Hotels UK, which comprised The Ritz London, The Stafford and Dukes Hotel. 

Paul Hemmings

Vice President of Sales


Paul Hemmings began his career with Red Carnation as General Manager at The Rubens at the Palace and Hotel 41, where he quickly learned what makes Red Carnation Hotels different from other hotels in London. His focus as General Manager was to focus on ensuring that his teams were trained to deliver the thousands of individual standards which go into making a guests' visit a memorable one. 

As Vice President of Sales, Paul now spends his time working with all the hotels across the Collection to develop great relationships with a wide range of companies, making sure that we tailor our outstanding service to fully match the need of our guests.

Liz McGivern

Vice President People & Culture


Liz’s first role with Red Carnation was as Training and Development Manager. She then became Director of Human Resources and Training and is now delighted to be Vice President for People & Culture.

“For me, the best piece of feedback we have is when a guest remarks on the fantastic service they received. Ultimately this is how my department is judged - on our recruitment through to the training we deliver. The most satisfaction for me at work derives from when I see someone develop and grow within the company and I am happy to say that this is something that at Red Carnation Hotels we do exceedingly well.” 

In 2009, Liz was named Human Resources Manager of the Year at the Hotel Cateys and also One of the Top 100 Women in Hospitality by Women First at the Shine awards in 2011. 

Suzie Thompson

& Revenue Management


Having joined the Executive team at Red Carnation Hotels in July 2011, Suzie is extremely proud to be working for a family owned and run collection of extraordinary hotels, renowned for generous hospitality and impeccable service. Her role is to champion the customer and ensure that the brand proposition reflects the customer experience in every way possible. 

2018 was a fantastic year for The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, when it was named the Number 2 Best Hotel Brand in the World by Travel+Leisure. The Collection continues to hold the top three traveller ranked hotels in London on TripAdvisor, a wonderful acknowledgement of the teams’ outstanding efforts.

Brian Brennan

 Projects Director
Building & Design


Brian joined Red Carnation Hotels in the 1990s as Projects Director Building & Design. He is responsible for leading the Design team in all aspects of hotel renovations, decorative initiatives and remodelling new acquisitions, working closely with Mrs Tollman and her daughter Toni Tollman to achieve the high standards and stylish visual impact for which Red Carnation is renowned.

Brian also oversees the creative concepts for sister brand Uniworld, ensuring that the same level of luxury is present throughout. With a deep love of antiques, arts and fabrics, he personally manages every aspect of the interior design, décor and art selection, styling photo shoots and infusing thoughtful signature touches that make our collection unique.

Simon Royce

Vice President of
Finance & Administration


Simon took up his position as Vice President of Finance & Administration with The Red Carnation Hotel Collection in January 2012, having previously worked with the company on a consultancy basis. Before working with Red Carnation Hotels he was the group Financial Controller for a well-known residential health spa brand for a number of years, and prior to this he worked for a major provider of private primary healthcare. 

“It is a pleasure not only to work with a great team of dedicated finance people but also with the operators of the hotels. I am very much involved with the day-to-day business as well with helping to formulate strategy and decisions at a group level, and it is this broad spectrum of responsibilities that I particularly enjoy.”
