Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing

Since his death 500 years ago, Leonardo da Vinci has risen through the ranks as one of the greatest artists in history. His drawings reflect a broad scope of interests, from architecture to anatomy, and this nationwide exhibition, spanning 12 venues, brings together 200 of them to form the largest show of the artist’s work in 65 years.

The Renaissance Nude

This hotly anticipated exhibition draws together magnificent works from 15th and 16th-century heavyweights such as Titian, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Albrecht Dürer. From enchanting detailed miniatures to spectacular full-scale masterpieces, it’s an extraordinary study of idealised beauty.

Spring Exhibition

Van Gogh and Britain

An insightful curation of 45 works by Vincent van Gogh, this major exhibition explores the influence of impressionism’s hero on British artists. Featuring favourites such as Starry Night over the Rhône, L'Arlésienne and Sunflowers alongside works by Francis Bacon and the Camden Town Group, it’s a fascinating and thought-provoking spring show.

Florimania: Embroidered Treasures of Hampton Court Palace

The illustrious Tudor interiors of the King’s Apartments at Hampton Court Palace are festooned in finely stitched blooms for Florimania on the weekend of Mother’s Day. A collaboration with the Royal School of Needlework, it’s a vivid bouquet of botanical-inspired embroidered treasures accompanied by fragrant arrangements of roses and lilies.

Mary Quant

More than 200 relics from fashion designer Mary Quant’s reign in the sixties and seventies are curated in this vibrant and inspiring homage to vintage trends. Expect a psychedelic kaleidoscope of hot pants, miniskirts and make-up, all marked with the style maven’s ubiquitous daisy emblem.

Sorolla: Spanish Master of Light

The broad canvases of Spanish impressionist Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida are infused with an iridescent light that rivals those of his more celebrated contemporaries. This exquisite exhibition draws together 60 of the painter’s works, including his famous frothy seascapes replete with carefree bathers.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Marking the quickstep from spring to summer, Chelsea erupts in a vibrant display of exquisite floristry and immaculate show gardens for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The floral theme is echoed on storefronts across the capital, with many boutiques and cafés erecting their own homage to pretty petals and blousy blooms.
