 Simon McBurney’s Tony Award-winning The Encounter is both an artistic tour de force and a thoroughly entertaining piece of theatre. Telling the true story of National Geographic photographer, Loren McIntyre, it reveals his stranding in a remote area of Brazil in 1969, leading to a visceral encounter that changed his life forever.

The Queen’s Birthday Gun Salute

A gun salute is performed by the Royal Horse Artillery to mark Her Majesty’s birthday in royal fashion. For 10 minutes, the thunder of canon fire echoes around Hyde Park, and white smoke rises above the trees in a spectacle that’s both majestic and exhilarating.
