Art has always been of great excitement and importance throughout The Red Carnation Hotel Collection. Guests can enjoy perusing many unique paintings and artefacts on display throughout each hotel, many personally chosen by President and founder Beatrice Tollman.
Red Carnation guests in London with a passion for art now have exclusive access to a limited number of complimentary tickets to the prestigious Masterpiece London art fair running from the 26 June to 2 July in the South Grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
Now in its fifth year, Masterpiece London attracts visitors from around the world including leading curators, collectors, art advisors, designers and cultural enthusiasts. The extensive range of style, period and art forms on display mean that the fair offers something of interest for everyone.
Visitors will have the opportunity to view and purchase museum-quality art, antiques, jewellery and design from over 150 leading galleries worldwide; including contemporary pieces to antiquity dating back over 3000 years.
New to the fair includes an exhibition of large scale outdoor sculptures by leading British sculptor, Philip King in association with the Thomas Dane Gallery. This spectacular exhibition throughout the South Grounds will remain on display throughout the summer until the 25 August.
Before the event opens each item at the fair is individually vetted by 26 committees of independent experts and specialists, ensuring buyers every confidence in the works on offer. Since its inception in 2010, Masterpiece London has focused on cross collecting, making it one of the only art fairs to bring together leading international exhibitors showing a diverse range of some of the world’s finest art collections.
One of the many highlights of the exhibition is the unveiling of a new work commissioned by Blain|Southern exclusively for Masterpiece London 2014 called ‘The Masterpiece’ by renowned British artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster. Other highlights include rare pieces such as an Egyptian style suite by Cartier from the Siegelson collection, inspired by the 1922 excavation of King Tutankhamen’s tomb.
