Practically Perfect in every way

A Mary Poppins inspired Afternoon Tea arrives at The Milestone Hotel & Residences.

Marking the release of Mary Poppins Returns, the highly anticipated sequel to the classic 1964 original, The Milestone Hotel & Residences is launching a Practically Perfect offer. From taking a spoonful of sugar with afternoon tea to sipping Super-cala-cocktails, this quintessentially British experience, inspired by the iconic nanny’s humour and charm, is certain to delight our guests.

With an all-star cast that includes Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep, as well as Dick Van Dyke who played Cockney chimney sweep Bert in the original Mary Poppins, the December release is set to be this season’s blockbuster hit.

In addition to a night’s stay with breakfast for two in a beautifully appointed room or suite, the experience includes a “Spoonful of Sugar” Afternoon Tea. A playful and delicious take on the traditional British mid-afternoon ritual, it includes a “chimney sweep” macaron, a chocolate and Earl Grey pastry modelled on Mary Poppins’ hat, and a cupcake served with a chocolate spoon(ful) of suger.

Kite-flying is a unique way to experience nearby Kensington Gardens’ picturesque Italian Garden – hum along to Let’s Go Fly A Kite as you steer your kite “up to the highest height!” across the sky. If the wind’s not in your favour, exchange your “silver” chocolate tuppence for a bird-feeding kit, to feed the birds in Hyde Park.

Later, enjoy a Little Nip from Every Sip cocktail, prepared with fresh muddled raspberries, peach purée, orange juice, ginger ale and peach liqueur. Younger guests can join in the fun with a …Most Delightful Way! mocktail. Take home a red carnation buttonhole, just like Mr. Banks wore on his lapel.

Practically Perfect

The Practically Perfect experience at Red Carnation Hotels’ The Milestone Hotel & Residences is available from 1st November 2018 until 31st January 2019.
