Food and Beverage Trainer

As a member of both the HR and Food and Beverage teams you will be an individual whose appearance and general demeanour reflect the high standards of Red Carnation Hotels and the Ashford Castle Estate. Your main talent will be for training and developing those who work in Food and Beverage across the estate. Attitude should be one of confidence, professionalism and motivation. The ideal candidate for the position should:
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to understand individual needs to ensure the department can obtain year end targets through employee performance
  • Conducting a training needs analysis and helping in the compilation of the plan.
  • Work with HR and Senior Managers to determine skills gaps and training opportunities to improve performance and departmental objectives
  • Creating training sessions, training plans and SOP manuals for the Food and Beverage Departments in line with RCH values/standards eg. Delivery of Exceptional Food and Beverage Service and Leading Hotel/RCH Standards
  • Delivering training sessions to all candidates, keeping sessions relevant, interesting and interactive
  • Devising innovative upselling training sessions and monitoring closely with results of this training
  • Receiving the mystery shopper/leading inspection scores on a monthly basis and reviewing with relevant managers/ special skills trainer's to set objectives.Completing on-job coaching where necessary to improve these
  • Monitor onsite departmental training and evaluate the results and feedback from training
  • Work with Human Resources and Food and Beverage consultant on the evaluation of training 
  • Implement measures such as sales reports to demonstrate effectiveness and return of investment of training
  • Undertaking all administration and contact to do with preparation, implementation and follow up within training
  • Liaising with Director of Food and Beverage and the Human Resource Manager to deal with important issues in training
  • Supporting the heads of departments, special skills trainer's with meetings and training
  • Work with Human Resources to ensure all new employees received set training programme and induction into the Food and Beverage departments
  • Create a “go to” bible for all information required on a restaurant for new employees with special skills trainer's or MPs
  • Ensure the RCH message and health and safety message of the month is incorporated in all departmental training plans
  • Responsible for delivering additional programmes as advised by Human Resource Manager
  • Source external product suppliers to deliver training programmes
  • Install a culture of high quality through defined key performance Indicators, performance targets and customer satisfaction and inspection results
