We Care

The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is part of The Travel Corporation (TTC), founded by the Tollman family and serving over two million customers in over 70 countries each year. Principal to TTC’s family of brands is support of the TreadRight Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation united by a passion to make our travels around the globe count for something.

At Red Carnation, our sustainable initiatives are at the heart of everything we do, from protecting a herd of Cape Mountain Zebras and supporting the work of the Cape Leopard Trust at Bushmans Kloof, to working with ME to WE to support education, health and food programming in Africa, Asia and South America. We keep our own bees to produce honey, thus reducing food miles, and sustain a living wall of 10,000 herbaceous plants in London. Each of our staff has the opportunity to volunteer two days per year and we support the work of a number of charity partners, including Belu, Action Against Hunger and Pack for a Purpose. We are proud that all of our properties are restored with the greatest care to surrounding habitats and communities.

We’re also setting our sights on a plastic-free future and we plan to ban single-use plastics by 2022. We have already found replacements for 15 plastic items, including straws, water bottles and single portion packets of food.

On an ever-wider scale, TreadRight has supported more than 50 sustainable tourism projects worldwide, leaving a positive impact on local people, wildlife and the planet to #maketravelmatter.
